Witnesses said the one-hour clash began at around 4:30pm on the Gonoktuly Sweeper Colony road over a cricket match between two rival sweeper groups, who went on a rampage and vandalised several houses in the adjacent area.

Ten people were injured in the clash and three were rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The rest received first aid treatment at the local clinics.
