Eight eminent personalities win Mercantile Bank Awards

Eight eminent personalities will receive Mercantile Bank Annual Awards for their outstanding contributions to different fields this year.They are Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed for Bengali language and literature, Prof Sanjida Khatun for education and culture, Meghna Guho Thakurota for research on Liberation War, Dr Akbar Ali Khan for economy and economic research, Latifur Rahman for industry and commerce, Dr MR Khan for science, technology and medicine, ABM Musa for journalism and Khaled Masud Pilot for sports. The names of the recipients were formally announced by director of the bank Mosharaf Hossain at a press briefing in the city yesterday to mark its 8th founding anniversary.
