Two of a family burnt alive

Two members of a family were roasted alive in a fire that broke out at their house at village Muskuripara under Birganj upazila of Dinajpur district on Thursday night.The dead were identified as Sofia Khatun, 65, wife of Hamid Ali, and their granddaughter Liza, 8. Fire Services sources said the fire originated from the kitchen at around 10:30pm and soon engulfed the house. Sofia and Liza were asleep in a room. Two other members of the family--Rahima and Lopa--received burn injuries and were admitted to Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital. On information, the fire fighters from Thakurgaon rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze.
