BU film festival begins in city

A two-day film festival of Bangladesh University (BU) began on its campus in the city yesterday with a call for waging a movement against the trend of making unhealthy films.Inaugurating the festival, eminent film director Chashi Nazrul Islam said cinema making has now become backtracked due to the production of unhealthy films, detrimental to our long tradition and culture. "This trend in film making reflects moral degradation," he said adding that the number of cine goers had drastically reduced due to this undesired practice in the country's film industry. Chief Adviser of ATN Bangla Shaiful Bari was the special guest on the occasion with BU Vice-Chancellor Kazi Azahar Ali in the chair.
