'Workers-employers' relations key to business success'


Bridging the gap between the employers and employees is the key to the development of any organisation, observed speakers at a seminar on Tuesday.

The seminar tilted 'Improving the Employer and Employee Relationship in Bangladesh' jointly organised by prothom-alojobs.com and Bangladesh Society for Human Resources Management (BSHRM) was held at Brac Centre in the city.

Presenting his keynote paper, Chief Executive Officer of Citibank NA Mamun Rashid said harmonious relationship between the employers and employees is the only way to achieve organisational goal.

Joint Editor of the daily Prothom Alo Abdul Qaiyum said the notion of human development has been changing over the years. Now the emphasis is being put on harmonious relationship between employers and employees for the sake of institutional development, he added.

Speaking as the chief guest, President of Employers' Association of Bangladesh and former adviser to the caretaker government Syed Manzur Elahi focused on different aspects of human development.

A number of human resource officers from various organisations, employers of different institutions and job seekers attended the seminar.

President of BSHRM Md Mosharraf Hossain, Human Resource Officer of Brac Bank Tahniat Ahmed Karim, Chief Executive Officer of prothom-alojobs.com MA Chowdhury Shamim and Chief Technical Officer Dilara A Khan spoke on the occasion.
