Technical glitches delay Sylhet-Dhaka Biman flight
Staff Correspondent, Sylhet
Technical glitches forced a Biman Bangladesh Airlines Sylhet-Dhaka flight to be delayed for over 14 hours on Sunday causing immense sufferings to its 49 passengers including Information Adviser Barrister Mainul Hosein. The F-28 aircraft, scheduled for Dhaka at 6:25pm, was grounded at Osmani International Airport in Sylhet after leakage in its hydraulic system was detected prior to the takeoff. Another Biman aircraft was flown in Sylhet from Dhaka at 11:00pm the same night to pick up the stranded passengers including the adviser. The same aircraft also dropped off Biman engineers at the airport. The engineers managed to get the troubled F-28 airborne at 8:45am yesterday.
