Extortion case filed against Jatrabari OC, three SIs

A criminal case was filed yesterday accusing officer-in-charge (OC) of Jatrabari Police Station, three Sub-Inspectors (SIs) and nine residents of Ramna and Jatrabari areas of taking Tk 2 lakh illegally and demanding Tk 20 lakh as extortion.Md Abul Kashem Khan, proprietor of Khan Enterprise, filed the case with the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court, Dhaka seeking an arrest warrant against them. Metropolitan Magistrate Syed Mohammad Mojibul Haq recorded statement of the complainant, took the complaint into cognisance and directed Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner to submit a report after an investigation. The accused policemen are OC Kazi Ahsan Habib and SIs Karim, Aziz and Jasim.
