An unbeaten hundred by Malinda Warnapura ensured Sri Lanka A's one-day series victory against Bangladesh A with one match in hand when they inflicted a six-wicket defeat on the visitors in the second game at the P Sara Stadium in Colombo yesterday. The home team, which earlier outplayed their opponents 2-0 in the four-day series, took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match limited-overs series after winning the first game by five wickets. The disappointing trip for Tushar Imran's men comes to end with the third one-day match to be held at the same venue tomorrow. Left-handed opener Warnapura struck nine fours and three sixes in his 104 off 113 balls as Sri Lanka A stormed to 207-4 with 33 balls to spare in reply to Bangladesh's 206. The 27-year old Warnapura paired with Dilruwan Perera to lay the foundation for an easy sail by sharing 91 runs for opening wicket. Left-arm spinner Enamul Haque trapped Perera, who made 46 off 63 balls featuring eight boundaries, leg before wicket. Earlier, Bangladesh A made a disastrous start after deciding to bat first as they lost three wickets for 10 runs before Tushar (38 off 55 balls) and Nadif Chowdhury (25 off 30 balls) contributed 46 for the fourth wicket to briefly repair the damage. Number seven batsman Forhad Reza, the out-of-favour all-rounder, then smashed an 84-ball 82 with the help of seven fours and three sixes to give the total some respectability but still, the second string Bangladesh side were bundled out with five overs remaining. Right-arm paceman Ishara Amerasinghe captured three wickets for 34 runs while leg-break Kaushal Lokuarachchi conceded 57 runs for three wickets.
