The nation is with the govt

You have come to rescue the nation at a critical juncture . While the rest of the developing world moved at light speed towards development, Bangladesh just crawled during the last 35 years. The education system suffered irreparable damage. Talented people shunned Bangladeshi politics. Politics became a moneymaking business. Political parties condoned all kinds of corruption. Innocents had nowhere to go. They seem to have resigned to the cruel fate.

The traditional destructive Bangladeshi politics has hurt people. The poor have become poorer. Academicians in universities, colleges and schools also joined the destructive politics forgetting their noble profession. Collectively they destroyed the education system in Bangladesh. The two big political parties assumed the roles of owning Bangladesh.

Only three months ago when Dr. Yunus won the Nobel Peace Prize, the Bangladeshi politicians and their student supporters rejoiced at the achievement. What a difference three months could make! Now the same politicians are condemning the concept of micro-credit, equating it with corruption and tyranny.

Instead of glorifying a rare Bangladeshi innovation, they have condemned it! The AL and the BNP do not represent 140 million Bangladeshis. The women leaders of the two political parties need soul searching. They need to understand that at this juncture Bangladeshi people do not need election. People want a complete overhaul of the political culture.

You are doing a great job! We salute you for taking this unruly bull by the horn. The Bangladeshi nation and its people, both in and outside Bangladesh, are with you.
