Our Correspondent from Gaibandha reports: Two people, including a seven-year-old child, were killed in separate road accidents on Rangpur-Bogra highway under Gobindaganj Upazila yesterday.

Russel, 7, of village Avirampur under Gobindaganj Upazila was killed when a speeding passenger bus hit him while he was crossing Rangpur-Bogra highway at Komarpur. The child died on the spot.

Shahed Ali, 60 of Gobindaganj Upazila at Gobindaganj crushed under the wheel of a bus on Rangpur-Bogra highway while he was crossing the road, leaving him dead on the spot.

UNB from Comilla adds: An official of Philips Company was killed in a road accident at Kabila in Burichang upazila on Chittagong-Dhaka highway yesterday.

The dead was identified as Saifuddin M Hasan, 30, an area manager of the company and son of Ashraf Ali of West Halua under Comilla Sadar Dakkhin upazila.

Police said the accident occurred at about 4:00pm when a bus hit his motorbike, leaving him dead on the spot.

Hasan was returning to the district town from Chandina upazila by his motorbike after completing his works.

Police sent the body to Comilla Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Our Kishoreganj correspondent adds: One person was killed in a road accident on Kishoreganj to Karimganj road at Aila area of Karimganj municipal area yesterday.

The dead was identified as Nazrul Islam, 27, son of late Abdul Malek of Barogharia village of Karimganj upazila.

Locals and police said the accident occurred when a Dhaka-bound BRTC bus from Chamra Port Bus Stand at Karimganj upazila hit a bicycle coming from opposite direction, leaving bicycle rider Nazrul critically injured.

Nazrul was rushed to Kishoreganj Sadar Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, hospital sources said.

Karimganj Police said the bus has been seized while its driver managed to escape.

Our Correspondent from Patuakhali adds: One person was killed in road accident yesterday on Patuakhali-Kuakata road.

The victim was identified as Yunus Mridha, 50 of Basak Bazar village under Sadar upazila.

Witnesses said the accident occurred when a Patuakhali-bound passenger bus hit Yunus Mridha when he was crossing the road at Fatulla Bazar area. He died on the spot.
