Former Brazil striker Romario scored twice to take his career tally to 992 goals as Vasco da Gama crushed part-timers Fast Club 6-0 in a Copa Brasil tie on Wednesday. The 41-year-old, who played the full 90 minutes, opened his account by converting a penalty two minutes before halftime and added another in the 76th minute after a one-two with Andre Dias. Romario has kept the goal tally himself, although it includes goals scored at junior level and friendly matches. He has set himself a target of 1,000 goals before he retires. Leandro Amaral also scored twice while Renato and Wagner Diniz shared the other goals as Vasco completed an 8-1 aggregate win in the first round tie against the little-known side from Manaus on the Amazon river.
