It is a disorder in which a person experiences the problems 15 or more days each month. The cause of chronic migraine is not clear. Some research suggests that it may be due to changes in parts of the brain that control pain. Chronic migraine is not due to overuse of pain medications. It is important to know that painkiller is not treatment of migraine. Treatment of chronic migraine may include certain antidepressants (TCA, preferably Amitriptyline), anti-seizure medications or cardiovascular drugs (b blockers like Propranolol). Sometimes combined drugs are used for both treatment and prophylaxis (preventive treatment) of migraine. However, even with such treatment, migraine may persist. Because its attack is episodic in nature. Sometimes, episodic migraines increase in frequency to daily or near daily migraines often without the usual features of a migraine, such as nausea or light sensitivity. Some people may experience migraine after taking cheese or some food can aggrieve migraine that varies from person to person. So avoid the food that hastens your condition. Treatment of migraine needs long time and it is strongly recommended that you consult with a neurologist before taking any drug. A physician can advise you the appropriate guideline.
