13 shops gutted

Some 13 shops were gutted and valuables worth about Tk 1 crore was damaged in a fire that broke out at Najirganj Bazar in Sujanagar upazila on Friday night.Fire brigade sources said the fire originated in a shop from an electric short circuit at about 9:30pm and soon engulfed the adjacent shops of stationery, cosmetics and clothes. On information, two fire units from Pabna and Bera rushed to the spot and brought the flame under control after two-hour of hectic efforts.
