3 to die, one gets life

A tribunal of Dhaka yesterday sentenced three people to death and one to life in jail for killing a businessman at Sutrapur in the city in 2005.The convicts with death are Enamul Karim Rimon, Mohammad Billah and Mohammad Swapan alias Kala Swapan while Abul Hossain alias Bhogla Babu was given life in jail. Judge Shahed Noor Uddin of the Speedy Trial Tribunal-1 gave death sentence to Rimon, Billah and Kala Swapan and Bhogla Babu to life in jail for killing Mohammad Sohel, a motor parts trader of Gandaria at Sutrpur in the city on August 5, 2005. The court acquitted Mohammad Shahin, Mohamamd Sumon and Maria Begum as the charges brought against them were not proved.
