Shuktara sinks Dhaka


Shuktara took three wickets and scored 33 invaluable runs to help Khulna win an exciting match against Dhaka by only three runs in the first-ever women's cricket tournament at the Ansar and VDP ground yesterday.

She gave away only 24 runs in her spell that helped Khulna shot out Dhaka for only 94 runs. The winners earlier scored 97 for six in 25 overs with Shuktara top-scoring with 33.

At the Nabin Sangha ground, Chittagong's Kajol and Kulsuma took three wickets each as they bowled out Narayanganj for only 91 runs. Chittagong notched up the target in 16 overs, winning by six wickets.

Fatema also put on an all-round show, taking four wickets and top-scoring with 39 as Jahangirnagar University defeated Bogra by eight wickets at the Dhanmondi Women's Complex ground.
