Reforms in EC demanded

Progatishil Chhatra Jote (PCJ), a combine of left-leaning student organisations, yesterday demanded an independent Election Commission and electoral reforms.At a meeting, they also urged the caretaker government not to allow dishonest people, loan defaulters and black money holders to contest the forthcoming parliamentary election. Leaders of the Jote also demanded that the property of corrupt ministers and lawmakers of the immediate past government be confiscated.
