Spalletti said Totti should be fit for Sunday's match against Lazio.

Totti's absence on Tuesday is likely to mean a start for Vincenzo Montella in attack.

Roma need a point from Tuesday's game against already qualified Valencia to secure their place in the last 16.

Spalletti said there was a doubt over the fitness of midfielder Simone Perrotta who also had an ankle worry.

"We hope he will recover but there is a doubt," he said.
