Bangladesh aim at clinching ODI series today

On the back of two strong displays, Bangladesh go into today's third one-day international with a hope of wrapping up the series against Zimbabwe here at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium.

The day-night match will start at 1.30pm with Bangladesh Television and Channel I beaming live coverage from the northern town venue where the Tigers had followed up their nine-wicket win in at Khulna with another convincing six-wicket victory on Sunday.

Habibul Bashar's men provided evidence in the last two games why the 'favourites' tag looks appropriate for them to record their second home series triumph against the southern African opponents with two games in hand.

Although there had been a lot of buzz about the dew factor ahead of the second match of the five-match series, the hosts have surely made it clear that nothing could be a barrier for a team on a good run.

The Bangladesh think-tank has the strong intention to field same combination for the third match in a row there was doubt over pace spearhead Mashrafee Bin Mortuza, who has been complaining a shoulder pain after the last game.

According to sources, his chance to play is 50-50 because the team would not take any risk on him. The fate of the new ball bowler will only be decided before the match starts.
