A total of five physicians and three health centres would receive the award this year for their outstanding contribution in the country's health sector.

The awardees are--- Prof Dr Rabiul Hossain, Dr Golam Moazzem, Dr MQM Talukder, Dr Mohammad Yusuf Ali and Dr SA Khaleq, posthumous.

Besides, Sandhani was nominated for launching blood and eye donation movement, Birdem for its service to diabetes and Centre for Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP) for its contribution in providing healthcare and rehabilitation facilities to the paralysed.

The awardees would be honoured at a programme on December 7 at Bangladesh- China Friendship Centre in the city.
