406 women victims of violence in Nov

A total of 406 women were the victims of different sorts of violence in the country last month, said a report of Bangladesh Mahila Parishad yesterday.Of them, 76 women and children were killed and 54 others assaulted. The report was prepared on the basis of stories published in12 national dailies. According to the report, there were 68 incidents of rape, 18 of which were gangrape and 12 of them killed after the rape. Besides, 14 women were sexually abused and 17 others abducted. There were 17 acid victims of whom five got burn injuries. Eighteen women were the victims of dowry and of them 15 were killed. A total of 56 women and children were trafficked. In addition, four domestic helps were assaulted. There were three incidents of fatwa and 17 incidents of police assault during the period.
