Bangladesh vow not to show any mercy in their attempt to regain the series when they take on Zimbabwe in the second one-day international of the five-game battle at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium here today. The day-night match starts at 1:30pm with Bangladesh Television (BTV) and Channel i beaming live coverage from the northern district town where the third one-dayer will also take place on Tuesday, also under lights. Habibul Bashar's men made a flying start to take a 1-0 lead in the series when they outclassed their Southern African opponents by massive nine wickets in the first one-dayer on Thursday at the Khulna Divisional Stadium. The Tigers have so far played three matches at this venue with two victories -- one against former world champions Sri Lanka and another against lowly Kenya. They lost the other match against Sri Lanka in the same series. Bangladesh yesterday named a 12-member team leaving out dashing middle-order batsman Tushar Imran and left-arm seamer Syed Rasel. Chances of making any change to the team that won in Khulna are highly unlikely, but the think-tank only included all-rounder Forhad Reza in the squad keeping in mind the dew factor in the day-night match. On the other hand, the tourists hinted at changes in their playing eleven after two new guys, spinner Graeme Cremer and paceman Ed Rainsford, who just arrived in Bangladesh two days back, are likely to take the field. Meanwhile, former Bangladesh Test bowler Enamul Haque will make his debut as an international umpire when he stands along with Pakistani Nadeem Gauri in the match.
