Uttam Das, 22, an employee of a drug shop, was sleeping inside the shop when a gang of criminals attacked him and stabbed him to death, local people said.

The police recovered the body yesterday morning and sent it to the morgue for autopsy. They also found a sharp weapon on the spot.

The reason behind the murder could not be known. A case was filed.
