Youth stabbed to death at Sarishabari


Unidentified miscreants at Sarishabari upazila in Jamalpur district stabbed a youth to death on Thursday night.

The victim was identified as Mohammad Biplob, 25, of Kathiar Bari village under Sarishabari municipal area and worker of a local Jute Mill.

Biplob was attacked by four unidentified miscreants in front of the Muktijoddha Sangsad office in the upazila headquarters when he was returning house at around 8:00pm, sources said.

Locals immediately rushed Biplob to Sarishabari Upazila Health Complex where the duty doctors declared him dead.

On information, Sarishabari police recovered the body and sent it to Jamalpur General Hospital Morgue for autopsy.

Family members of the victim suspected that rivals might have killed Biplob over family feud while local BNP leaders claimed Biplob as their activist and blamed local Awami League (AL) for the murder, sources said.

A murder case was filed with Sarishabari Police Station in this regard.
