28 get EWU merit scholarships
The Merit Scholarship Awarding ceremony of East West University (EWU) for the Fall Semester 2006 was held at the university auditorium yesterday. Twenty eight students received full tuition merit scholarships in the ceremony.

Yasmeen Murshed, Adviser for Women and Children Affairs, Primary and Mass Education and Social Welfare Ministries, distributed certificates amongst the merit scholarship winners as the chief guest.

Jalaluddin Ahmed, president, board of directors of EWU chaired the programme.

This semester 28 students have got merit scholarship for 30 credits in one year. A total of 1,227 students have been awarded merit scholarship and financial aid amounting to 3.25 crore which is 10.08% of the total tuition fees.

Founding vice chancellor of the university Dr Mohammed Farashuddin and acting Vice Chancellor Dr Mohammad Musa greeted the merit scholars.
