A total of 2423 TEUs (twenty equivalent units) containers were handled at the port until yesterday afternoon. The gantry crane resumed operations on Wednesday after a 17-day suspension.

Of the handled containers, 1725 were offloaded and 698 loaded at the port jetties.

A total of 18,893 TEUs containers were lying stockpiled at the port yards until yesterday when another 1195 TEUs containers remained yet to be offloaded from the nine vessels berthing at different jetties of the port, said sources.

Besides, 14 vessels carrying 7851 TEUs containers were anchoring at the outer anchorage yesterday.
