35 listed firms yet to declare AGM dates


Thirty-five listed companies out of 115 companies, whose financial year ended in June, are yet to declare the dates of annual general meetings (AGMs).

However, 61 listed firms have declared the dates of AGMs and dividend declaration, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) sources said.

Besides, 19 listed firms declared the dates of AGMs but the companies did not declare any dividend.

Of the companies, which declared cash dividends, 19 companies declared dividend below 10 percent while 30 firms declared dividend from 10 percent to 49 percent, five companies from 50 percent to 99 percent and one above 100 percent. Three companies also declared bonus dividends and two offered right issues along with cash dividend.

Besides, two companies announced only bonus dividend for the shareholders.

First Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB) Mutual Fund declared highest 210 percent cash dividend.

Of the companies that declared the dates of AGMs, five companies have already held AGMs.

DSE CLOSES HIGHER

Share price indices on the DSE went up slightly yesterday with gainers outnumbering the losers.

DSE All Share Price Index went up by 6.60 points or 0.52 percent to close at 1267.97 points yesterday while the DSE General Index shot up by 3.42 points or 0.22 percent to close at 1527.29 points.

DSE-20 Index, comprising blue chips, also increased by 0.20 points or 0.01 percent to close at 1324.76 points.
