Two advisers violate oath, says Jamaat

Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Ali Ahsan Muhammad Mujahid has said two advisers -- CM Shafi Sami and Sultana Kamal -- have violated the oath and lost neutrality by meeting with 14-party alliance leader Sheikh Hasina at her residence on Thursday night.

"This proves that the two advisers are representing a party... they have lost the eligibility to remain in the advisory council," he said at a press briefing at Jamaat central office yesterday.

Mujahid, also former social welfare minister, hoped that the president and chief advisor to the caretaker government would take proper steps against the two advisers.

About the formation of caretaker government, he said the president took oath as the chief adviser on October 29 as per constitution, bringing "a sense of relief to the people".

He urged all to cooperate with the caretaker government in holding a free and fair election in the country.
