Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) yesterday said the two advisers who visited Sudha Sadan are not at fault."This kind of a visit is not an offence according to democratic custom", said LDP Executive President Col (retd) Oli Ahmad while replying to a question by a journalist yesterday in the LDP presidium office at Baridhara in the capital. "Advisers may meet any political leader if needed," commented Col Oli who formed the new political party leaving BNP. Oli however claimed that Chief Adviser Iajuddin Ahmad has failed to prove his neutrality so far. "Chief Adviser Iajuddin Ahmad has yet to act neutrally", said the LDP executive president adding that the chief adviser is still protecting corrupt BNP leaders who looted public fund over the last five years. Col Oli was addressing a gathering of several hundred people from different parts of the country including former secretary Abdul Latif, former joint secretary Abdul Haq Chowdhury, and former ambassador Harun-ur-Rashid, who had come to join LDP. "If the chief adviser doesn't arrest the thugs of BNP-led four-party alliance, it will prove that he is still acting as a member of Zia Parishad, Col Oli said. "The chief adviser has made arrangements to guard the residences of members of parliament and ministers of the immediate past ruling party but he did not do the same for LDP leaders who had been attacked by BNP goons," alleged the LDP leader. Meanwhile LDP President AQM Badruddoja Chowdhury yesterday demanded resignation of Adviser to the Interim Government Fazlul Haq. He was addressing another ceremony on the occasion of some more people joining LDP in KC Memorial in Baridhara.
