College student shot dead in city

A college student was gunned down in front of a restaurant at Elephant Road in the city last night.The victim was identified as Rakib Hasan, 23, a student of Tejgaon College and resident of Jahuri Mahalla at Mohammadpur in the city. Rakib went out of his house after receiving a call from an unidentified caller at 7:30pm, his younger brother Nishan said. New Market police rushed Rakib to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition where doctors declared him dead. Police said the miscreants shot him point-blank in the head.
