Family members of ex-BNP MP Wadud made voters twice

Family members of former BNP lawmaker Wadud Bhuiyan have been put on the present voter list twice with the district election officer, a relative of Wadud, failing to explain this.Six members of the former legislator's family were first listed as voters on March 3 this year in Kalabagan Collectorate area of Sadar upazila. And on March 20, they were again included in the voter list in Ramgarh Bazar of Ramgour upazila, according to records at the district election office. The six persons listed twice are Daudul Islam Bhuiyan, Shahidul Islam Bhuiyan, Shariful Islam Bhuiyan, Saiful Islam Bhuiyan, Majedul Islam Bhuiyan and Wahidul Islam Bhuiyan. Asked about this, Daudul Islam said, "I got listed as a voter from Ramgarh but I do not know how I was included in the voter list for the second time from another place." District Election Officer Nurul Hasan Bhuiyan simply said it might have happened due to the data collector's mistake. He however could not say if the mistake could be corrected now. Data Collector from Ramgarh Monju Prava Dey declined to make any comments.
