Revolver, six bombs recovered on DU campus

Police recovered six crude bombs from Modhur Canteen, reportedly kept by Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) and a revolver from Jasimuddin Hall of Dhaka University (DU) yesterday.

The bombs were found in a packet in the kitchen of the comparatively lower-presence canteen as police raided it acting on a tip-off at around 1:45pm.

Only four to five JCD men and a few left wing student bodies' activists and journalists were present at the canteen when police raided. However, many alleged JCD, in a planned way, compelled police to conduct the raid as eyewash.

While police was conducting the raid, the JCD men left the canteen silently. No arrest was made in this regard.

Meanwhile, in the early hours of yesterday police recovered a revolver from a toilet at Jasimuddin Hall of the university.
