Khan was admitted to Bhola Sadar Hospital with sever injuries. Angry AL workers put up blockade on Bhola-Doulatkhan Road and damaged several vehicles including a microbus in protest against the attack.

Witnesses said AL and JCD-BNP workers also chased each other during the clashes when three JCD workers were injured.

In the evening, BNP local MP Hafiz Ibrahim held a protest rally at Banglabazar area to protest what he called Awami League's attacks on his party workers.

Awami League alleged that JCD launched the attack on Nasir Khan in a bid to disrupt AL Bhola district conference.

Police have strengthened their patrol in Doulatkhan Upazila where a tense situation has been prevailing.
