Adivashi soccer concludes

Striker Rupen Hasda scored the match winner as Adivashi Bikash Kendra defeated Panchgachia Sandhya Tara Jubo Sangha 1-0 in the Sagram Mazhi Memorial Football Tournament final at the Kakonhat playground, Rajshahi yesterday. The tournament, organised in memory of the indigenous leader Sagram Mazhi, was the biggest and first ever among the indigenous community in the northern region of the country. A total of 16 indigenous youth teams took part in the three-day knockout meet, organised by Adivashi Unnayan Sangstha (AUS). AUS executive director Bhagavat Tudu, the chief guest, distributed musical instruments as trophies. The champions won a harmonium while the runners-up a madal. After the prize distribution, a drama on activities of Sagram Mazhi was also staged.
