Tigers in New Delhi

A 19-member Bangladesh cricket team reached Indian capital New Delhi yesterday to take part in the ICC Champions Trophy.Earlier, Bangladesh Cricket Board general secretary Mahbub Anam and cricket committee member ASM Faruque bid the Tigers goodbye at the Zia International Airport before they boarded an Air India flight. Wives of skipper Habibul Bashar and newly-wed Bangladesh paceman Mashrafee Bin Mortuza and parents of Shahriar Nafees and rookie Mehrab Hossain also went to see-off their beloved. The Tigers will reside in New Delhi for three days before departing to Mohali, in Punjab, where they play a warm-up match and the opening match of the Champions Trophy qualifying rounds against Sri Lanka on October 4 and 7 respectively. Two top teams from the 4-team qualifying league also involving the West Indies and Zimbabwe will make it to the eight-team final rounds.
