Le Guen a French spy!

Rangers boss Paul Le Guen is ready to face the wrath of Scotland by helping France coach Raymond Domenech plot the Scots' downfall in a crucial Euro 2008 qualifier next week.

The two nations sit joint top of Group B after taking maximum points from their opening two games but Domenech is determined to see the World Cup runners-up strengthen their position when he brings his team to Hampden on Oct 7.

And he will use any means possible to gain information on Walter Smith's men, saying: "I will probably give a call to Paul Le Guen to get some advice about Scotland.

"And I can talk to (former Rangers defender) Jean-Alain Boumsong too." As a former protege of Domenech, Le Guen says he will be more than happy to take the call -- but admits he is also acutely aware Scotland is his new home.

"He was my teacher when I was learning to be a coach and I have a very good relationship with him," said Le Guen, who joined Rangers in the summer.

"If he wants to speak to me about this game, then of course I will be happy to speak to him. But I am also aware that I live in Scotland now!"

Confidence is high in the Scotland camp after morale-boosting wins over the Faroe Islands and Lithuania. But they know they face their biggest test yet in the shape of France, before travelling to the Ukraine four days later.

Le Guen has backed his compatriots to come out on top at the national stadium.

"France are the favourites," he said. "Scotland have a chance, but only a small chance."
