Hartal called in Paikgacha today

Angry people damaged four passenger buses and a truck yesterday on Khulna-Paikgacha road disrupting vehicular movement from 6:00am to 2:00pm yesterday protesting the death of a college teacher in a road accident on Saturday.Niloy Banerjee, 52, a lecturer of Political Science of Kapilmuni College under Paikgacha upazila was run over by a passenger bus at Godaipur Bazar road. He succumbed to his injuries at the upazila hospital at 2:45pm on Saturday. Meanwhile, teachers and students of Kapilmuni College and Paikgacha College yesterday called for half-day hartal at Paikgacha upazila today protesting the incident and demanding arrest of the driver of the bus.
