Photojournalist Salahuddin passes away
Md Salahuddin, chief photojournalist of the daily Inqilab and member of the National Press Club, passed away yesterday at Birla Heart Foundation in Kolkata at the age of 54, says a press release.He was kept in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after completion of the second open-heart surgery on September 2 but he didn't regain his senses. Doctors declared him dead yesterday morning. Salahuddin, also former president of Bangladesh Photojournalist Association, left behind his wife, one daughter and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death. Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) President Monjurul Ahsan Bulbul and Secretary General Abdul Jalil Bhuyia and Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) President Altaf Mahmud and General Secretary Omar Faruk expressed deep shock at his death and conveyed sympathy to his bereaved family members. National Press Club President Reazuddin Ahmed and General Secretary Shawkat Mahmud also condoled the death of the veteran photojournalist.
