BOA, Tata sign MoU


The Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) and Tata Steel yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Dhaka in a bid to enhance the level of Bangladeshi athletes.

The Indian corporate house will train 19 Bangladeshi sportspersons in three disciplines -- athletics, archery and boxing -- in their highly regarded sports academy in Jamshedpur under the agreement.

BOA's acting secretary general Kutubuddin Ahmed and Arun Narayan Singh, deputy managing director (Corporate Services) of Tata Steel, were the signatories on behalf of their respective organisations.

BOA president and Chief of Army Staff Lt General Moeen U Ahmed was present as chief guest. Satish Pillai, chief of sports, Tata Steel, was also present.
