Stories of world literature dramatised on Channel 1
Based on stories by the greatest writers of world literature, a series of TV plays titled Bishwasahitya Shambhar begins today on Channel 1, says a press release.

Directed by eminent filmmaker Abu Sayeed, the series adapts a range of diverse stories by Nikolai Gogol, Leo Tolstoy, Anton Chekhov, Guy de Maupassant, O'Henry, Mark Twain, Jean Paul Sartre, among others. The stories are presented in the context of Bangladesh with the titles Sheshpata, Neelrokto, Danpotro, Adhopoton, Coatbrittanto, Kanta, Jonoiko Keran, Ghrina, Jibon-Jemon, Bibhranti and others.

Several upcoming writers have scripted the plays. In fact Kamrul Ahsan, Rahad Abir and Mila Mahfuza embarked on their career as scriptwriters through this series.

The cast of the play includes Jayanta Chattopadhyay, Dr Enamul Haque, Abul Kashem, Dilara Zaman, Ahmed Rubel, Zahid Hossain Shovon, Shamsul Alam Bokul, Ahsan Habib Nasim, Deepa Khondoker, Kusum Sikder, Sharmin Shila and Dihan.

Bishwasahitya Shambhar will be aired every Sunday at 8:15 pm
