The convicts are Hafez Bokaul and Alam Sheikh of Ibrahimpur village under Sadar upazila.

Judge Mahbub-ul-Islam of Additional District and Sessions Judge's Court also fined them Tk 5000 each in default to suffer four months more rigorous imprisonment.

According to the prosecution, the victim, 8, was returning home with her goats from a field at around dusk on January 14, 2004.

The convicts took her forcibly to a mustard field and raped her.

Hearing her groaning, the pedestrians rescued her.

She was admitted to Sadar hospital the next day.

Sultan Gazi, her father, filed a case of children repression with the local police station.
