CU Persian Dept activities suspended

Chittagong University (CU) authorities have suspended all academic activities of the Department of Persian Language and Literature for a year due to shortage of teachers.The decision was taken at a meeting of the university's academic council recently. CU administration sources said the Department of Persian Language and Literature was launched at the CU in the current year. A total of 10 students were also admitted to the department. But, the classes could not be started for a long period due to lack of course teachers. The students of the Department of Persian Language and Literature, however, will be transferred to the Department of Islamic Studies.
