Wife beaten to death in Satkhira

A housewife was beaten to death by her husband at village Rajarbagan in the town over quarrel with small amount of money. Soon after the incident, police arrested the killer husband Monirul Islam from the place of occurrence. The victim was identified as Tota Khatun, 20, wife of Monir of Rajarbagan in the town. Quoting local people police said the husband deposited Tk 150 to her wife a few days back. Last night he asked his wife to return the money but she failed to return the money saying she has bought some essential goods with the money for the family. Following this, they exchanged hot words over it and at one stage he beat her mercilessly leaving her dead on the spot. The victim's father Tasir Uddin filed a case accusing Monir for the incident. On contact, Sub-inspector (SI) Kum Kum confirmed the incident.
