Jamaat-Shibir leaders burn copies of Prothom Alo

Jamaat-Shibir leaders burned a large number of copies of the Prothom Alo at Bagmara yesterday protesting a news item. Earlier, they held a protest rally under the banner of Upazila Madrasa Teachers' Council and criticised different progressive newspapers. They protested the report published in the Prothom Alo on August 25 under the headline -- 'Abundance of madrasas behind the rise of Bangla Bhai and militancy in Bagmara'. Rajshahi district (east) Jamaat-e-Islami Amir and Taherpur Kamil Madrasa Principal Saidul Hasan Ansari led the demonstration. Bagmara upazila Jamaat Amir Abdul Ahad Kabiraj was also present.
