Culture of personal attacks should be changed: Reza Kibria

The mission of 'Blue for Peace' is to change the prevailing culture in Bangladesh politics of 'attacking someone personally', said Reza Kibria, son of slain former finance minister Shah AMS Kibria at the 70th programme of the movement at Dhanmondi in the city yesterday.

'Our mission is to establish a culture where "there would be battles of ideas, one would attack other's policies and the other would defend its stand" he said.

'It is not acceptable that one would attack another personally", Reza Kibria added.

Commenting on the impact of their ongoing campaign on the people he said, "Some organisations participate in the programme occasionally while some expressed their interest to join us".

'Our demonstration at least gives a mental support to people who are affected by political killings', he further added.

He vowed to continue the programme until their goal is achieved.

Asma Kibria, wife of Shah AMS Kibria and hundreds of civil society members attended the programme.
