A snake charmer died by snakebite yesterday when he was performing snake show to people at Budhata Bazar in Assassuni upazila in the district.

The victim was identified as Mafizul Islam, 35, son of Miser Ali of village Jugipukuria in Tala upazila.

Quoting local people police said he died on way to Sadar hospital.

Meanwhile, a 10-year old girl died by snakebite last night at village Tetuldanga in Sadar upazila.

The victim was identified as Salma Khatun, 10, daughter of Surat Ali of village Tetuldanga in the same upazila. Salma was a student of class four of Jahanabaj Khadijatul Kobra Madrasha in the same upazila.

Quoting the victim's father police said a snake bit the victim at the dead of night when she was asleep in her room leaving her dead after some time.

On contact, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station Shahjahan confirmed the incident.
