Medical Exhibition begins in Ctg

A three-day exhibition styled 'Chittagong International Medical Exhibition 2006' (ChiMexpo-2006) began here in the port city yesterday with a view to showcasing health care services, facilities and modern equipments available at home and abroad.Triune Exhibition and Event Management Service (TEEMS) organised the exhibition for second time at Hotel Agrabad in the city. Former Commerce Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury inaugurated the fair with ChiMexpo Chairman Kazi Wahidul Alam in the chair. Bangladesh Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society, Chittagong chapter President Dr Syeda Nurjahan Bhuiyan was present as the special guest in the ceremony. A total of 24 health care service providers from home and abroad and medical equipments and furniture manufacturers took part in the fair with their products. Amir Khasru in his speech urged the local health care service providers to bring changes in medical services, equipments and management. Dr Nurjahan said by visiting the exhibition, people would be able to see the technological advancement in the world and know where they would get better treatment facilities and specialised services at affordable price. ChiMexpo Chairman Kazi Wahidul Alam, General Secretary of Hospital Association of India Rupak Barua, Manager of Singapore Medicine Jesline Tann and General Manager of Otobi Saleh Mujahid also spoke it. The fair will remain open for all from 8:00am to 8:00pm everyday and two seminars will be held tomorrow.
