Chevanton signs for Sevilla

Uruguayan international striker Javier Chevanton on Tuesday completed a five-year deal with Spain's UEFA Cup champions FC Sevilla for a fee of 8million euros from 2004 Champions League finalists Monaco, the Spanish club said.The 25-year-old, nicknamed Chevagol, has been with Monaco since 2004 scoring 20 goals in 50 appearances. A Monaco source had earlier said a four-year contract was in the offing after the French league club's managing director Marc Keller said that "the two clubs have come to an agreement." Sevilla's website said the player would on Thursday join up with the club as they head for a tour of Japan.
