Nazrul Islam, popularly known as Badal bhai, had been suffering from old age complications for a long time.

He was a vice-president of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) and former president of Farashganj Sporting Club. He had a long association with the old city club as a financer and a well-wisher.

BFF and Farashganj SC expressed deep shock at his death and prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members.
