1 killed, 30 hurt in Khulna road accident

One person was killed and 30 others were injured when two passenger buses collided head-on near Battala under Dumuria upazila of Khulna district yesterday.The dead was identified as Nazmul Hossain, 25, a helper of the passenger bus bound for Khulna from Satkhira. The injured were admitted to different clinics and hospitals of Dumuria and Khulna city. The buses skidded off the road and fell into a nearby ditch due to collision, witnesses said. Local people rescued passengers trapped inside the buses. The road accident disrupted transport services on Khulna-Satkhira highway until 1:00pm. A large number of buses and other vehicles remained stranded on the roads.
