The Daily Ittafaq Karmachari Steering Committee, comprising newsmen, press workers and employees, has been staging the hunger strike at the main gate of the newspaper office since July 29 demanding proper investigation into the murder of Kamal Uddin, an employee of the Ittefaq, and payment of compensation to his family.

SSKOP leaders Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, Mozammel Haque, Monjurul Ahsan Bulbul, Fazle Imam, Ruhul Amin Gazi, Matiur Rahman Talukder, Abdul Jalil Bhuiyan, Abul Hashem, Khairul Islam, Altaf Mahmud, Elahi Newaz Khan Saju, Omar Faruq and Sarder Farid Ahmed will take part in the token hunger strike today.
